Admissions Policy

AMO™ reserves the right to review all applications to assess suitability for participation in AMO University Practice Development Seminar and the AMO University Fast Track Courses. At AMO's sole discretion, admission or attendance may be refused.

Who Should Attend?

AMO University Practice Development Seminar is designed to assist eyecare professionals in the implementation of marketing strategies, infrastructure design, and staff training processes into their laser vision correction practices. The curriculum is taught from a management perspective, and is therefore most suitable for the decision makers who are ultimately responsible for practice growth.

Several of the courses cover topics at a detailed hands-on level, and therefore might be helpful for administrative, technical, and clinical support staff. However, most of the curriculum is designed to provide physicians, practice managers, marketing managers, and refractive coordinators with the leadership and process implementation tools needed to instruct their support staff in the implementation of effective consumer marketing, information management, and patient education techniques.

Sessions are particularly useful for those who:

  • Have just purchased a VISX Excimer Laser System for their own practice or
  • Have just begun to utilize an "open-access" laser center or "roll-on/roll-off" system or
  • Currently manage an open-access center and wish to attract more users or
  • Wish to co-manage a substantial number of laser vision correction patients with an experienced laser refractive surgeon.
